This April the Bullock Smithy Explorer Unit set out on their 4th annual camp. Staying in an old farmhouse in the midst of the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, the presence of a proper kitchen and toilets made it seem like real luxury compared to regular camps!

The first day was spent on a strenuous hike through the surrounding countryside; other activities included white water rafting, where not one, but two of the leaders (and none of the explorers) fell in and trip all the way up to Newcastle to visit a gigantic swimming baths with some of the largest slides in the country.

A visit to a WWII recreation museum concluded the weekend, and it was all topped off by constant beautiful sunshine throughout.
