The annual trip to London is probably the most action packed weekend programme of the year. Friday consists of a 180 mile trip to 1st Uxbridge Scout Hut. Bright and early on Saturday morning we boarded the Underground to Westminster and took a tour round Westminster Abbey. From the Abbey we walked to Downing Street. The PM was not home but we still managed to invest a few cubs, and 1 leader in front of the famous door. After leaving Downing Street we went to see the guards change at Horse Guards Parade before having lunch in St James' Park. After lunch we walked past HMS Belfast and went up Tower Bridge. After coming down, we watched it open for a paddle steamer, before heading, via The Monument for a McDonalds tea.
On Sunday morning we set off to Victoria for an open-top bus tour, taking in the fantastic views shown in the photo gallery. Following the bus tour we headed to Green Park for lunch, then on to Buckingham Palace. After a photo with the famous guards we returned to Uxbridge, tired out, ready for the 180 mile trip home!
